For Sasha's Proud Heritage -
Germany's National Anthem
Sasha was born in Quitman, TX on 1-9-95 of pure German lineage as her father had been imported from Germany the previous summer. Her family includes a 4-year old sister, ShyAnn who excels at agility, a 2-year old niece, Steffi who has earned three novice obedience titles and is Sasha's traveling companion and a 6 month old cousin, Skyler who excels at being a puppy.
She has spent her entire racing career with PAC and has the second longest tenure among the active members. She earned her first point on 6-7-97 and achieved her FM this past May to become only the 20th German Shepherd to reach that plateau.
Sasha has also had great success in agility as she has earned titles in four different registries. The year 2001 has been a milestone year as she earned the AKC's excellent titles of MX in June and MXJ in September.
She has also shown her skills in obedience by earning CDX titles in the AKC, UKC and ASCA. She has won High in Trial at the spring Ft. Worth German Shepherd Specialty Show two years in a row.
Sasha's versatility is quite evident when you add titles from tracking, herding, temperament and therapy to her previous list of accomplishments, which gives her more than 40 titles for her career.
She started doing pet therapy when she was only one and has been on well over 100 visits. Her sessions at The Ronald McDonald House of Dallas keep her busy playing ball with the children while her senior friends at Grace Presbyterian Village Nursing Home prefer a more relaxed petting atmosphere. The therapy schedule also includes monthly trips to the Baylor Institute for Rehabilitation where we go room to room cheering up the patients.
Sasha's athletic triumphs in competition and her graceful nature with her therapy friends combine to make her a wonderful example of the noble German Shepherd Dog.
